Michelle Maddox was born in Cambridge, England in 1968. She has A BA in History of Art from Birkbeck, University of London, a Higher Diploma in Graphic Design from the University of Lincoln, A Certificate of Advanced studies in Art and design in practice from the University of the arts in Zurich Switzerland where she is currently living with her family and is currently studying for a Masters of fine art at UCA online. She also recently attended a Master Class with Israel Hersheberg from the Jeruselum Studio School in Civita Castellana in Italy, where she developed her interest in light and perceptual painting.
Her current work is mainly preoccupied with the ordinary object within the Still Life genre, specifically the disregarded or the mundane where she aims to enhance its potential through her favoured medium of oil paint.
